The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar has started applications for GATE MTech admission for the 2025-26 session. Candidates can submit the IIT Gandhinagar GATE 2025 application form online till April 16, 2025. Those applying for multiple subjects will have to fill out separate application forms for each. Additionally, candidates (except IIT BTech graduates) will have to provide their COAP registration number.
Eligibility criteria
To qualify for IIT Gandhinagar GATE 2025 admission, candidates must:
- Hold a BE/BTech, MSc, or an equivalent degree with at least 55% marks or a 5.5 CGPA/CPI (on a 10-point scale).
- Belonging to a reserved category? You get a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks!
- Have a valid GATE score to apply for MTech admission.
- If you’re a BTech graduate from an IIT, you need a minimum CGPA or CPI of 8.0 or higher.
Admission Process
Applicants for MTech programmes through GATE must obtain a COAP registration number (except for IIT BTech graduates). The institute selects candidates based on their GATE scores and academic performance, followed by an interview and written exam.
- Visit IIT Gandhinagar Admissions Portal and fill in the required details.
- Submit the application form to receive an application number and a download link.
- Keep a hard copy of the application form and self-attested copies of relevant documents for the interview process.
- Download the GATE 2025 scorecard for free using your enrollment ID and password.
Steps to Register for COAP 2025
You can register for GATE COAP 2025 by following these steps:
- Go to the official COAP website and choose the registration option.
- Fill in the required details: GATE registration number, GATE paper code, GATE score, date of birth, and name.
- Click on submit and keep your GATE COAP registration number for future use.

Financial Assistance
Full-time MTech students at IIT Gandhinagar will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 12,400. Additionally, they can receive financial assistance of up to Rs 60,000 for presenting their research work at international conferences.
