NEW DELHI: Elderly care, yoga and self-help will soon be included in the curriculum in Delhi schools. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has designed a new curriculum called Science of Living to teach students various forms of meditation, including yoga, mindfulness and stretching exercises. The curriculum will be available for students from kindergarten to Class 10.
The education department is also creating artificial intelligence (AI) courses to help students learn important technological skills. An SCERT official said that as technology grows, learning new skills becomes important. To keep pace with this, the department is developing new courses and activities to prepare students for a tech-driven world. They are also updating existing courses with new features to make them more useful.
One of the new programmes, New Era of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Vision (NEV), will teach students about business activities. An official said NEV will be different from the Business Blasters programme and will include new activities. Another programme called Rashtraneeti will be launched for all classes to give students practical knowledge about governance, democracy, active citizenship and policy making.
