New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched the Parenting Calendar for the 2025-26 academic session. The move has been taken to enhance parent-teacher coordination, student welfare and holistic development as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Structure and Implementation
The parenting calendar will also include structured orientation, parent-teacher conferences, and efforts to promote school-parent communication. It will also establish norms of good communication so that parents can remain active in the child’s educational process.
The launch event will involve primary stakeholders such as school principals, teachers, counsellors, wellness instructors and parents. The launch event will also provide an overview of the aim and vision of the initiative as well as the method for effective execution.
Development and Framework
In January 2025, CBSE constituted a committee of education experts and school principals to design the Parenting Calendar. Led by Anuradha Joshi, Principal of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, the committee emphasized:
- Strengthening parent-teacher communication.
- Addressing diverse student needs, including adolescents and children with special needs (CWN).
- Establishing a structured plan for parental engagement.
This collaborative effort concluded with final recommendations submitted on March 15, 2025. The Parenting Calendar reinforces CBSE’s commitment to fostering holistic development, collaboration, and student well-being.
