Himachal Pradesh: The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has increased the exam fees for the Himachal Pradesh State Open School (HPSOS) by 20%, effective from September 2025. The revised fee structure will apply to all HPSOS examinations conducted from September 2025 onwards.
Established under HPBOSE in collaboration with the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), HPSOS had not revised its fees since 2020. According to the official notice, the 20% fee hike aligns with the policy followed for regular HPBOSE examinations.
The HPBOSE Class 12 exams, originally scheduled between March 4 and 8 in Chamba and Lahaul, were postponed due to adverse weather conditions. These exams have been rescheduled to take place from March 27 to April 3. The HP SOS Class 12 Physics exam for 2025 will be conducted today.
Revised HP SOS Fee Structure
The updated fee structure for HPSOS includes increased charges for fresh admissions, reappear attempts and performance improvement.
- Class 8 Fees:
- Fresh admission (availing TOC) – Increased to ₹2,600.
- Reappear fee (all subjects) – Raised to ₹800.
- Class 10 Fees:
- Fresh admission – Revised to ₹3,000.
- Reappear candidates – Increased to ₹1,000.
