    Don't Miss Entrance Updates 2026

Three days. That’s all you have. So let’s get straight to what matters.

First, a Quick Recap of the NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam

NTA conducted the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM (IST). The exam went off smoothly across the country. All four sets of question papers are now available, and the provisional answer keys have been published on their official website for candidates to review.

Why Did NTA Open the Challenge Window Before OMR Scanning Is Even Done?

This might seem unusual but it’s actually a smart move.

Normally, the answer key challenge process begins only after OMR scanning is complete. This year, NTA has deliberately launched both processes simultaneously running expert review of challenges at the same time as the scanning of OMR sheets.

The reason is simple: to declare the final result faster. Neither process has to wait for the other, which means less delay between the exam and the announcement of results. NTA has been transparent about this, calling it a step toward earliest possible declaration of results.

For candidates, it means one thing review the answer key now, while the momentum is there.

7 Rules You Must Know Before You Hit Submit

Read these carefully ignoring any one of them can cost you your fee or your challenge:

Rule 1 Online only, no exceptions. Email, fax, WhatsApp, letters none of it counts. Your challenge must be submitted through the official portal, period.

Rule 2 Use only your own Series Code. The Question Paper Series Code is printed on the cover of the test booklet you brought home from the exam centre on June 21. Challenge questions only under that series you don’t need to raise the same objection under other codes.

Rule 3 One accepted challenge fixes it for everyone. If subject matter experts agree your challenge is valid, the correction is applied universally across all four sets. Your challenge benefits every NEET UG 2026 candidate not just you.

Rule 4 No going back after you submit. Once you click Submit and pay, your challenges are locked. You cannot add more questions, remove any, or change your evidence. Double-check everything before you pay.

Rule 5 Fee refund is merit-based. If your challenge is accepted by the expert panel, Rs. 200 for that question comes back to you. If it is rejected, the fee is forfeited. Choose your challenges wisely don’t challenge randomly.

Rule 6 Your OMR sheet comes later. The scanned OMR response sheets are not part of this stage. You will get a separate opportunity to view your individual OMR sheet once scanning is complete.

Rule 7 June 28, 11:50 PM is an absolute deadline. Once the window closes, no challenge or grievance related to the answer key will be accepted not before results, not after results, not ever.

Step 1: Go to the portal Visit https://neet.nta.nic.in/ and find the link for answer key challenge.

Step 2: Enter your Question Paper Series Code This is the code on the cover of your test booklet from June 21. Enter it carefully and proceed.

Step 3: Pick the questions you want to challenge Select each question number where you believe the answer given in the provisional key is incorrect.

Step 4: Upload your evidence For each question, you must support your challenge with documentary proof. Acceptable references include NCERT textbooks (mention chapter and page number), and other reputable academic publications. Vague or unverifiable references will not be considered.

Step 5: Review before paying Go through every challenge you have selected one final time. This is your last chance to make changes.

What Happens to Your Challenge After Submission?

Here is the journey of your objection once it leaves your screen:

    • Your challenge goes to a panel of designated subject matter experts for review
    • This expert review runs in parallel with ongoing OMR scanning, so no time is wasted
    • If the panel agrees your challenge is valid, the provisional answer key is revised for that question across all four sets
    • NTA will not inform you individually whether your specific challenge was accepted or rejected
    • The revised Final Answer Key will be published on neet.nta.nic.in before the results are declared
    • Rs. 200 will be refunded for every question where your challenge is accepted
    • After scanning wraps up, you will be given a separate window to view your scanned OMR sheet
    • Results will be announced at the earliest once all processes are complete

Should You Challenge? A Quick Check

Before spending Rs. 200 per question, ask yourself:

    • Do I have a textbook reference (NCERT or equivalent) that clearly supports a different answer?
    • Am I sure the question I want to challenge is from my own Series Code booklet?
    • Have I cross-checked with multiple sources not just one coaching institute’s key?

If the answer to all three is yes, go ahead and challenge. If you are unsure, it may not be worth the fee.
