Why This Matters for NEET UG 2026 Candidates
The Seat Matrix forms the base document that Counselling Committees of the Central Government and State Governments will use while conducting NEET UG 2026 admissions. NMC has made it clear that admissions must strictly be made only against the approved number of seats, and any admission beyond the notified intake will be treated as a violation of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, attracting regulatory and penal action against the defaulting college.
The Seat Matrix will remain subject to revision if required, based on decisions of the Appeal Committee or any other competent authority, and any revised version will be uploaded on the official NMC website.
E-Bank Guarantee: Important Direction for Private Colleges
In a significant compliance requirement, all private medical colleges that have been granted approval for a new MBBS college or an increase in intake capacity have been directed to submit the requisite Electronic Bank Guarantee (E-Bank Guarantee) to the Director, MARB, within seven days of the notice. Details of the E-Bank Guarantee must also be shared over email. The Letter of Permission (LoP) will be issued only after the E-Bank Guarantee is received and verified.
