Two NEET-UG aspirants were found dead in separate incidents on the same day in Rajasthan. Police suspect suicide in both cases. This is the 10th incident this year, with nine in Kota and one in Jodhpur. Last year, 23 students preparing for competitive exams in the state had committed suicide, which is a matter of serious concern.
The first incident involved a 17-year-old NEET-UG aspirant who was staying in a hostel in Jodhpur district. The student, originally from Beawar, had come to Jodhpur last year to prepare for the NEET UG exam and was staying in the hostel of a coaching centre. The incident came to light when a classmate entered the room after receiving no response from the student and saw the body. The classmate informed the hostel management, who then informed the police. Police found a suicide note in which the student had apologised to his parents.
The second incident occurred in Kota, where a 17-year-old NEET-UG aspirant from Bihar was preparing for the entrance exam. His friends knocked on his door multiple times but received no response. The hostel owner then forced open the door and discovered the student’s body. The police were alerted immediately, and the body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
