The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a fresh clarification for medical colleges and institutions that had applied to the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) for establishing new medical colleges for Academic Year 2026-27.
Key Update
Institutions that applied to MARB for setting up a new medical college for AY 2026-27 and now wish to appeal against MARB’s decision must log in to the Online Appeal Portal using the same Email ID and Password they used while submitting their original MARB application. No fresh registration is required.
Why This Matters
NMC has already made it mandatory for all appeals against decisions of MARB, UGMEB, and PGMEB to be filed exclusively through the Online Appeal Portal at application.nmc.org.in/login. The earlier practice of filing appeals via email or any other channel stands discontinued.
Colleges are advised to carefully go through the Terms & Conditions and User Manual on the portal before filing, as appeals are frequently rejected as deficient due to:
- Wrong provision of the NMC Act being cited
- Missing supporting documents
- Filing before the wrong authority
