If you appeared for the NEET UG 2026 exam that was held on May 3 and are still waiting for your fee refund, pay close attention. NTA has just given candidates one final opportunity to submit or correct their bank account details, and this time the agency has made it very clear there will be no more extensions after this.
Through a public notice dated June 30, 2026, NTA has extended the bank details submission window to July 7, 2026, till 11:50 PM. Once this deadline passes, the portal will shut for good.
The Full Story: Why This Refund Exists
The original NEET UG 2026 examination was held on May 3, 2026. Shortly after, serious concerns emerged around the integrity of the question paper, following which NTA officially cancelled the exam. As part of this decision, the agency committed to refunding the examination fee to every candidate who had registered and paid.
To process these refunds, NTA first asked candidates to submit their bank account details through the portal via a public notice on May 22, 2026. A dedicated link was activated on neet.nta.nic.in for this purpose.
Why the Window Kept Getting Extended
After the initial submission window, NTA received a large number of complaints from candidates who had entered wrong bank account numbers or incorrect IFSC codes. To fix this, the agency reopened the correction window on June 25, 2026, giving students another shot at updating their details.
The deadline was then set at June 30, 2026. However, with many candidates still not having submitted correct information, NTA has now pushed the final deadline to July 7, 2026, at 11:50 PM. This, the agency has stated, is the absolute last chance.

What You Need to Do Right Now
Getting this done is straightforward. Here is all you need to do:
Go to neet.nta.nic.in and log in using your NEET UG 2026 registration credentials. Look for the “Bank Account Details Confirmation/Updation” link on the portal. Before you can access this link, you will need to complete a two-factor authentication step an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
Once inside, you can view whatever bank details are currently saved, confirm them if they are correct, or update them if something is wrong. NTA also allows you to upload a cancelled cheque for additional verification of your account details.
Once you submit your details after the two-factor authentication, they will be treated as final. No changes will be possible after that.
Don’t Miss This Deadline
NTA has been clear in its notice that this extension has been granted specifically so that no eligible candidate misses out on their refund. The agency has not indicated any possibility of a further extension beyond July 7.
Candidates who fail to act before 11:50 PM on July 7 will have no further recourse through the portal. The deadline is firm, and the window will close automatically once it passes.
