NEET UG 2026 Exam Fee Refund: NTA Opens Update Window Deadline June 30, 2026

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an official public notice on June 25, 2026, informing NEET UG 2026 candidates about a final opportunity to confirm, correct, or update their bank account details for the purpose of receiving the examination fee refund. This window is available on the official portal and will remain open until June 30, 2026 at 11:55 PM. No requests for changes will be entertained after this deadline under any circumstances.

    Don't Miss Entrance Updates 2026

Candidates who appeared in NEET UG 2026 are strongly advised to act within the stipulated period to ensure the refund is credited to the correct bank account without delay.

Background: Why Is NTA Refunding the NEET UG 2026 Exam Fee?

The original NEET (UG) 2026 examination, scheduled for 03 May 2026, was cancelled. In view of this cancellation, NTA had committed to refunding the examination fee paid by all registered candidates.

Subsequently, the rescheduled NEET UG 2026 re-examination was successfully conducted on 21 June 2026 across the country. Approximately 20 lakh candidates appeared in the re-examination. NTA is currently in the process of finalising the results, which will be declared at the earliest.

To facilitate the refund, NTA had earlier requested all candidates to submit their bank account details including Account Number and IFSC Code through a dedicated portal. While approximately 19 lakh candidates have already completed this process, a small number of candidates could not update their details within the earlier available windows.

Additionally, some candidates who had previously opted for “No Refund” have approached NTA expressing their wish to revise that choice. To ensure that no eligible candidate is inconvenienced, NTA has decided to provide this one final opportunity for all candidates.

    Who Should Use This Window?

This notice is relevant for the following categories of candidates:

    • Candidates who could not submit their bank account details during the earlier window
    • Candidates who submitted incorrect bank account numbers or IFSC codes and wish to correct them
    • Candidates who had earlier opted for “No Refund” and now wish to change their preference to receive the refund

Option 1 Confirm Existing Details: If the bank account number and IFSC code displayed are accurate, the candidate may tick the checkbox provided on the screen to confirm and proceed to receive the refund in that account.

Option 2 Update Incorrect or Missing Details: If the details displayed are incorrect or were not submitted earlier, the candidate may enter or update the Bank Account Number and IFSC Code afresh on the portal.

Option 3 Opt Out of the Refund: If the candidate does not wish to claim the refund, they may select the “No Refund” option. In such cases, no refund amount will be processed by NTA.

Candidates who had previously opted for “No Refund” may also revise their choice within this same window and opt to receive the refund.

    Security Measure: Mandatory OTP-Based Authentication

To safeguard candidates’ financial information, NTA has implemented an OTP-based Two Factor Authentication (2FA) system. Access to the bank account details section on the portal will only be granted after successful completion of OTP verification through the candidate’s registered mobile number.

Candidates are advised to ensure that their registered mobile number is active and accessible before attempting to log in.

    Important Advisory from NTA

NTA has issued the following advisories, which all candidates must note carefully:

    • The refund will be transferred strictly to the bank account details furnished and confirmed by the candidate on the portal. NTA shall not be held responsible for refunds credited to incorrect accounts due to wrong, incomplete, or unverified entries made by the candidate.
    • The bank account provided must be active and should stand in the name of the candidate, their parents, or a family member. Joint accounts in the candidate’s name are also acceptable.
    • Candidates must not share their login credentials, OTP, or bank account details with any third party. NTA will never call or send messages requesting OTP or passwords from candidates.
    • Requests for any change in bank account details received after the closure of this window on June 30, 2026 will not be considered under any circumstances.

    Summary

The NEET UG 2026 examination fee refund window is the final and only remaining opportunity for pending candidates to complete their bank account submission. NTA has confirmed that this window will not be extended beyond June 30, 2026 at 11:55 PM. Candidates are urged to log in immediately, verify their bank details, and complete the required action well before the deadline to avoid missing out on the refund.
