New Delhi: The National Board of Medical Examinations (NBEMS) has implemented three timed sections in NEET SS 2024 to strengthen exam security and maintain fairness. Following the introduction of time limits in all computer-based MCQ exams last year, this change ensures a standardised and secure testing environment. By implementing these timed sections, NBEMS aims to improve the exam structure and provide a fair assessment process to candidates.
Section-wise Question and Time Distribution
The section-wise questions and time distribution are given in the table below:
Section | Number of Questions | Time Allotted |
Section A | 50 | 50 minutes |
Section B | 50 | 50 minutes |
Section C | 50 | 50 minutes |
Candidates must wait for the allotted time before moving to the next section. Once time runs out, they cannot review or edit their answers. The next section will begin automatically after the previous one is completed.
NBEMS will provide a demo test link to the candidates, which will be available on the official website nbe.edu.in from March 20 under the NEET SS 2024 Application Link page.
Exam pattern
The medical board has recently revised the NEET SS 2024 exam pattern and made two major changes. It has created separate question paper sets for DM/DrNB Medical Oncology and Critical Care Medicine. These question papers will contain questions exclusively from their respective subjects.
The Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has allowed PG holders in Traumatology and Surgery to appear for the exam. NEET SS 2024 will be held on March 29 and 30.
