New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has outlined the eligibility criteria for NEET SS 2024 aspirants seeking admission to the DM/DrNB Infectious Diseases program. Candidates must have an MD/DNB in General Medicine, Paediatrics, Respiratory Medicine, Tropical Medicine, or Microbiology to qualify for this super-specialty course.
About the DM/DrNB Infectious Diseases Course
DM/DrNB Infectious Diseases is a three-year super-specialty program designed for doctors who have completed their postgraduate medical degrees. The course focuses on diagnosing and managing infectious diseases through a combination of clinical and laboratory practices.
Eligibility Criteria for NEET SS 2024
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold an MD/MS/DNB degree or equivalent qualification by April 30, 2025.
- Ineligibility Clause: Candidates found ineligible at any stage will not be allowed to appear, and if successful, their results will be canceled.
- Cutoff Date: Only those who complete their qualification by April 30, 2025, are eligible.
- Late Qualification: Candidates obtaining their results after April 30, 2025, will not be permitted to appear.
- Medical Registration: Registration with NMC/State Medical Council is mandatory and must be presented on the exam day.
- Foreign Nationals: OCI cardholders can appear without NMC registration but must obtain temporary registration for postdoctoral studies, provided they are registered in their home country.
- Ongoing Doctoral Course: Candidates already enrolled in a DM/MCh/DrNB course through NEET-SS cannot apply for another super-specialty course until they complete the current one.
- FCPS Qualification: FCPS qualifications from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai, are not considered equivalent to MD/MS and are not eligible for NEET-SS.
- Provisional Eligibility: Receiving an admit card does not guarantee admission, as eligibility will be verified post-exam.
The NEET SS 2024 correction window has now closed. Candidates are advised to adhere to the eligibility rules set by NBE to ensure a smooth application process. Any future changes in feeder qualifications will be subject to NBE’s discretion.
