IPU Round 1 Counselling Deadline Extended to June 29 Last Chance to Register

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has given candidates one final window to complete their Round 1 counselling formalities. Here is every date, every programme, and every step you need to know before the deadline passes.

If you have been waiting to complete your IPU counselling registration, the university has just given you a final opportunity. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has officially extended the Round 1 counselling schedule for eleven programmes covering law, engineering, management, education, commerce, and arts streams until June 29, 2026.

    Don't Miss Entrance Updates 2026

The extension was notified through the Academic Branch of GGSIPU. It applies to candidates who have not yet enrolled for counselling, not yet uploaded their documents, or not yet filled their college and course preferences. All three activities must be completed before the deadline missing even one step means you will not be considered for seat allotment in Round 1.

Important: This extension does NOT apply to LE B.Tech (Diploma Holders) Code 128. That programme continues on its original schedule as notified in University Notification No. 40/2026 dated June 17, 2026.

What Is IPU Round 1 Counselling and Why Does It Matter?

IPU’s centralised online counselling is the official process through which seats across GGSIPU-affiliated colleges are allotted to candidates. Round 1 is the first and most important round it carries the largest number of available seats. Candidates who miss Round 1 can only participate in later rounds, where seat availability is significantly lower and college options are more limited.

For programmes based on IPU CET scores, candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 2,500, register on the admissions portal, upload their educational and category documents, and fill in their college and course preferences in order of priority. The preferences submitted during choice filling directly determine which college and branch a candidate gets so filling choices carefully and on time is critical.

“All the interested stakeholders are advised to refer to the Admission Brochure 2026-27 for more details. ”

What Exactly Do You Need to Do Before June 29?

There are three distinct tasks and all three must be completed in sequence. First, if you have not already paid the Rs. 2,500 counselling fee and registered on the portal, that must be done first. This applies specifically to NLT-programme candidates (B.Tech, LLM, LLB) who have not yet applied online.

Second, once registered, every candidate must enrol for the centralised online counselling process and upload all required educational documents, Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, category certificate if applicable, and any other documents specified in the admission brochure. Documents not uploaded by the deadline will result in your application being incomplete. Third, and this is the step most candidates forget until it is too late, you must fill out your college and course preferences. Choice filling is compulsory for seat allotment. If you do not submit choices, you will not receive a seat in Round 1, regardless of your rank or score.

Additionally, candidates who have already submitted their application and wish to correct or edit any documents, educational testimonials or category certificates can do so through the Correction/Edit window, which is also open until June 29, 2026 at 11:59 PM.

    What Remains Unchanged?

All other conditions, rules, and terms of IPU Round 1 counselling remain exactly as published in University Notification No. 40/2026 dated June 17, 2026. Only the dates have been extended. The fee structure, document requirements, eligibility conditions, and the general counselling process are unchanged.

The LE B.Tech (Lateral Entry Diploma Holders), Programme Code 128, is specifically excluded from this extension and continues on its original schedule.

    Where to Complete the Process

All counselling activities must be completed online. At the admissions portal and at and the main university website. Candidates are advised to refer to the Admission Brochure 2026-27 for complete document checklists, fee payment instructions, and programme-specific guidelines before beginning the process.
