MET 2026 BTech Counselling: Round 3 Seat Allotment Today; Fee Payment Window Opens

Candidates who appeared for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2026 and are participating in the Online BTech Common Counselling have reached the third and final scheduled round of seat allocation. According to the official counselling schedule released by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Round 3 seat allotment results are declared on June 30, 2026, after 8 PM, with the fee payment window opening immediately afterward.

    Don't Miss Entrance Updates 2026

This centralised counselling process determines admission to undergraduate engineering programs across five MAHE-affiliated institutions, making it one of the key admission events for MET-qualified candidates this season.

About MET 2026 BTech Common Counselling

The Online BTech Common Counselling 2026 covers admissions to B.Tech programs offered across five participating institutions: Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Manipal, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) Sikkim, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ), MIT Bengaluru, and Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Dubai. The process runs entirely online through the dedicated portal counseling.manipal.edu, where candidates complete registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and fee payment.

The counselling brochure makes clear that simply registering does not guarantee a seat final admission depends on a candidate’s MET rank, the choices filled, seat availability, and compliance with eligibility norms set by UGC, AICTE, or the respective university.

Eligibility Criteria for MET 2026 Counselling

    RequirementDetail
Entrance rankMust hold a valid MET 2026 rank
Qualifying examPass in 10+2 / ‘A’ Level / IB / American High School Diploma or equivalent, with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects
Minimum marksAt least 50% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and one optional subject combined, with minimum pass marks in each as per the board
Optional subjectMust belong to Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical domains
Foreign board candidatesMust obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

Candidates who fail any subject or do not meet the minimum aggregate criteria are not eligible to participate, and any provisional seat allotted to result-awaited candidates will be cancelled if they later fail to meet these conditions.

What Happens After Round 3 Seat Allotment

Once seats are declared today, allotted candidates must pay the first installment of the course fee, amounting to Rs 2,90,000, within the specified deadline of July 4 to confirm their admission. On successful payment, the Rs 10,000 waitlist deposit paid earlier gets converted into a refundable caution deposit, and the candidate becomes a Provisionally Admitted Candidate, eligible to download the Provisional Admission Order from the portal.

Failure to pay the first installment within the deadline will result in the seat being cancelled, the waitlist deposit being forfeited, and the candidate being marked as an “Exited Candidate.” Such candidates may still re-register for further rounds by paying the waitlist deposit afresh, though the earlier forfeited amount cannot be adjusted.

The balance, or second installment of the course fee, must then be paid by July 7, 2026, failing which the allotted seat will again be cancelled, and the paid fee refunded as per AICTE refund rules.

    Fee Payment Process

Candidates can pay fees either through online payment on the counselling portal, which generates an instant receipt and allows immediate download of the Provisional Admission Order, or via NEFT/RTGS transfer to the official MAHE account, after which transaction details must be manually updated on the portal before the deadline. Failure to update NEFT/RTGS details in time will also be treated as non-payment, leading to seat cancellation.

    Choices, Upgradation, and Waitlist

Candidates who already hold a provisional seat from an earlier round and wish to be considered for an upgrade in Round 3 need only submit choices that are a higher priority than their current allotment. If no changes are made, previous preferences remain in effect automatically. Importantly, once a seat is accepted or upgraded, there is no provision to revert to a previously allotted branch.

Candidates who remain unallotted after this round become eligible for the waitlist process and may continue participating in subsequent or additional counselling rounds, subject to vacancy.

    Document Checklist for Physical Reporting

Candidates securing admission must carry original documents for verification at the time of reporting, including 10th and 12th standard mark sheets, transfer certificate, character certificate, Aadhaar card, PAN card of parents, recent photographs, and APAAR ID, among others, as listed in the official brochure.

    Important Advisory

MAHE has reiterated that it does not engage any agents or middlemen for admissions, and that all seats are secured purely through MET 2026 merit and the counselling process. Candidates are advised to rely only on the official portal, counseling.manipal.edu, and the email btech.counseling@manipal.edu for all communication, and to avoid acting on information from unofficial sources.
