The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEE) has notified the counselling schedule for admission to undergraduate engineering, technology, and architecture courses for 2026. This counselling process applies to Government, Government-aided, and Self-financed Private institutions situated across West Bengal.
As per the official notice, the counselling exercise will unfold across three structured rounds between the end of June and the end of July, giving lakhs of WBJEE-qualified candidates a step-by-step path toward securing engineering and architecture seats.
How WBJEE 2026 Counselling Will Proceed
Unlike a single-day admission event, WBJEE counselling spreads candidate registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting across multiple stages. Each round builds on the previous one, allowing candidates who don’t get a satisfactory seat in the first attempt to try again in subsequent rounds.
The process kicks off on June 30, 2026, when the portal opens for candidate registration, payment of the registration fee, and filling of institute and course preferences.

WBJEE Counselling 2026 Full Schedule
NOTE- Schedule subject to change
Round 1: Registration to Reporting
The first leg of counselling begins with registration, where candidates pay the requisite fee and submit their ranked list of institute and course preferences. This window remains open till July 5, 2026, and candidates are also free to edit or lock their choices within the same period.
Once choices close, the Board will process and release the first round seat allotment result on July 7, 2026. Candidates who are satisfied with their allotted seat, or those not opting for an upgrade, must then pay the seat acceptance fee and visit their allotted institute for document verification and admission. This reporting window runs from July 7 to July 11, 2026.
What Candidates Should Check Before Reporting
The Board has advised candidates to get in touch with their allotted institute or check its official website beforehand, since reporting timings and the exact list of documents required can differ from one institute to another.
Round 2: A Fresh Opportunity
Candidates seeking a better seat, along with new applicants, can register and fill choices again for the second round between July 13 and July 17, 2026. The corresponding seat allotment result will be declared on July 21, 2026.
Fresh allottees in this round are required to pay the seat acceptance fee and complete document verification at their respective institutes between July 21 and July 23, 2026. Notably, this same period also serves as the window for candidates who wish to withdraw from the counselling process altogether.
Round 3: The Final Round
The third and concluding round of registration and choice filling will take place from July 24 to July 26, 2026, with the seat allotment result expected on July 28, 2026. Fresh allottees from this final round must complete fee payment and reporting formalities between July 28 and July 30, 2026.
Eligibility and Documentation Pointers
| Aspect | What Candidates Should Know |
|---|---|
| Reporting requirements | Vary by institute; candidates must confirm directly with the allotted college |
| Seat acceptance | Mandatory fee payment within the given window to confirm admission |
| Withdrawal option | Available only during the specified period in Round 2 |
| Document verification | Conducted physically at the allotted institute |
Schedule Subject to Change
The Board has clearly stated in its notification that the above dates may be revised under unavoidable circumstances. Candidates are therefore advised to regularly monitor the official WBJEE website for any updates, rather than relying solely on this published timeline.
Final Advisory for Candidates
With three rounds and tightly packed reporting windows, candidates are encouraged to keep their academic certificates, identity proofs, and other admission-related documents ready well before each round’s reporting period begins. Given that document checklists can vary across institutes, verifying requirements in advance with the allotted college will help avoid delays during the actual admission process.
