The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has set Monday, 20th July 2026, by 5:00 PM (17:00 hrs) as the last date for fee payment under Round 5 of JoSAA counselling 2026. This is the final seat allotment round for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs, and candidates who have been allotted a seat must confirm it by paying the required fee before the deadline lapses.
What Happens If the Deadline Is Missed
Candidates who fail to pay the seat acceptance fee within the given window are treated as having rejected their allotted seat. This results in cancellation of the allotment and exit from the JoSAA 2026 counselling process. A separate window has been kept open until 21st July 2026 only for resolving fee payment issues faced during genuine payment attempts made before the deadline – it is not an extension for fresh payments.
How to Pay the JoSAA Round 5 Fee
- Visit the official JoSAA counselling portal
- Log in using the application number and password
- Go to the seat allotment or online reporting section
- Select the seat status option – Freeze, Float or Slide
- Proceed to the fee payment section and choose Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI
- Complete the payment and save the acknowledgement receipt
- Upload the required documents as prompted after payment
