The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the Round 4 seat allotment result for the 2026 engineering admission counselling today, July 10, at 5:00 PM. Candidates seeking admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and other Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) through JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2026 can check their allotment status on the official website, josaa.nic.in.
Following the result, candidates allotted a seat must complete the mandatory online reporting process – including seat acceptance fee payment, document upload, and response to any verification query – by 5:00 PM on Monday, July 13, 2026.

- Visit the official website, josaa.nic.in
- Log in using your JEE Main 2026 application number and password
- Click on the seat allotment link on the dashboard
- View the allotted institute, course and category
- Download the Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip for reporting purposes

Freeze, Float or Slide – Choose Carefully
Candidates allotted a seat in Round 4 must select one of the following options during online reporting:
- Freeze: Accept the seat and exit the counselling process; no further participation in subsequent rounds.
- Float: Accept the seat while remaining eligible for an upgrade to a higher-preference institute in later rounds.
- Slide: Accept the seat while remaining eligible for a branch change within the same institute.
Round 4 is the last round in which the Float and Slide options will be available. From Round 5 onward, only Freeze will apply, and candidates will not be able to seek further upgrades.
What Happens If You Miss the Deadline
Failure to complete any step of the online reporting process – including seat acceptance fee payment – by the July 13 deadline will lead to automatic cancellation of the allotted seat, with the candidate excluded from all further rounds of JoSAA counselling.

JoSAA Round 5, the final round of the 2026 counselling process, is scheduled for July 16, 2026.
