JoSAA 2026 Counselling Schedule Out: Check Registration dates, Counselling, seat allotment, etc

Registration and choice filling will begin on June 2, 2026, following the declaration of JEE Advanced 2026 results on June 1.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially released the complete counselling schedule for admissions to premier engineering institutions, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) for the academic session 2026-27. According to the schedule, the counselling process will commence on June 2, 2026, following the declaration of the JEE Advanced 2026 results on June 1.

    JoSAA 2026 Registration and Choice Filling

    Candidates who have qualified in JEE Main 2026 or JEE Advanced 2026 can register and fill their choices for participating institutes from June 2, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Along with registration, the pre-payment of the seat acceptance fee and document upload facility will also begin on the same day. Candidates eligible for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) will be able to submit AAT-specific choices after the declaration of AAT results.

    The registration and choice-filling process will conclude on June 11, 2026, at 5:00 PM, after which the system will automatically lock the submitted choices.

    Mock Seat Allotment Rounds

    To help candidates assess their chances and modify preferences, JoSAA will conduct two mock seat allotments:

    • Mock Seat Allocation 1: June 8, 2026
    • Mock Seat Allocation 2: June 10, 2026

    These mock allotments will be based on the choices filled by candidates before the specified deadlines.

    The counselling process will be conducted in five rounds. The Round 1 seat allotment result will be announced on June 13, 2026, followed by online reporting, document verification, and fee payment.

    Withdrawal and Exit Facility

    JoSAA will allow candidates to withdraw their allotted seats or exit the counselling process during specified windows after Rounds 2, 3, and 4. Candidates must respond to withdrawal-related queries within the stipulated timelines to complete the process successfully.

    Final Round for IITs and IISc

    The fifth round of counselling, scheduled for July 16, 2026, will serve as the final seat allocation round for admissions to IITs and IISc. Candidates allotted seats in this round must complete online reporting, document verification, and fee payment by July 20, 2026. The final resolution of fee payment issues and candidate queries will conclude on July 21, 2026.

    Special Instructions for NIT+ System Candidates

    For candidates seeking admission to NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs under the NIT+ System, the withdrawal process will remain open between July 16 and July 21, 2026. Additionally, selected candidates will be required to pay the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) from July 22 to July 24, 2026, through the CSAB portal for further admission formalities and special rounds.

    Candidates are advised to carefully review the counselling schedule, complete registration well before the deadline, upload all required documents, and regularly monitor the JoSAA portal for updates regarding seat allotment, document verification, and fee payment. Missing any deadline may result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.
