New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has officially started applications for its undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), diploma and certificate programs for the 2025-26 academic session. The last date to apply for all courses is April 10, 2025. Jamia Introduces 14 New Courses to Boost Skill Development
To strengthen its academic offerings and meet the evolving demands of the job market, Jamia Millia Islamia has launched 14 new courses, including:
- Bachelor of Design (BDes)
- BSc (Hons) in Computer Science
- Certificate in Design and Innovation (Self-financed, Evening)
- Certificate in Textile Design
- PG Diploma in Fire Safety, Lifts and Plumbing Services (Self-financed)
- Certificate in Graphic Art (Print Making) (Self-financed, Evening)
- MFA in Curatorial Practices (Self-financed)
- MFA in Art Management (Self-financed)
- MFA in Conceptual Art Practice (Self-financed)
- MFA in Graphic Art (Print Making) (Self-financed)
- Certificate in Art & Aesthetics (Self-financed, Evening)

These additions aim to enhance career-ready skills and promote creative and professional education across diverse fields.
Fee Reductions for Foreign and SAARC Applicants
To attract more international students and NRI candidates, JMI has reduced the fees for applicants from SAARC countries. It has also reduced the fee structure for foreign nationals and NRI wards enrolling in diploma courses under the University Polytechnic.
Online Admission Interviews for Foreign PhD Applicants
In a move to simplify the admission process for international students, Jamia Millia Islamia now allows foreign PhD applicants to attend admission interviews online.
Reserved Seats in BDS for Foreign Students
The university has also reserved two seats in the BDS programme for foreign nationals. Admissions to this programme will be conducted through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
CUET-Based Admissions Expanded to 25 Programmes
As part of its commitment to the National Education Policy (NEP), JMI has expanded its CUET-based admissions. For 2025, the university will admit students to 25 programs—including 9 UG, 5 PG, 8 diploma, and 3 advanced diploma courses—based on CUET merit scores.
Entrance Exams to Be Held in 9 Cities
To facilitate wider access, Jamia Millia Islamia will conduct entrance exams for 29 programs across nine major Indian cities, including New Delhi.
