IIT Tirupati Admission 2025 for MS(R) and PhD is open for the July session. Eligible candidates can apply online at iittp.ac.in/admissions. The application submission deadline is April 9, 2025. More admission schedules will be announced shortly.
Admissions are open in multiple departments such as Engineering, Sciences, Humanities, and Mathematics. Candidates should keep an eye on the official website.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility requirements differ for the NS(R) and PhD programs. Candidates can review the specific criteria for each program below:
IIT Tirupati MS(R) Eligibility

| Bachelor’s Degree Holders | Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology or Master’s (M.Sc/MCA, etc.) in a relevant discipline with a valid GATE score. |
| Professional Body Membership | Associate membership (completed Part A & Part B) from professional bodies like The Institution of Engineers (India) or The Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, with a valid GATE score. |
| IIT Graduates | Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology from any IIT with a minimum CGPA of 8/10 (7.5 for EWS/OBC-NCL, 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD). |
| Note | A valid GATE score is not required for external, part-time, or internal category applicants. |
IIT Tirupati PhD Eligibility

| Engineering Graduates | M.E./M.Tech./MS(R), five-year integrated Master’s in Engineering, B.Tech + M.Tech Dual Degree, or a five-year integrated degree/B.S + M.S from a CFTI. |
| Master’s Degree Holders | Master’s in Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, or Management from IITs with a minimum CGPA of 8.0/10 (7.5 for EWS/OBC-NCL, 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD). |
| National Eligibility Test Requirement | Candidates must have a valid qualification in exams like GATE, UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, NBHM, INSPIRE, JEST, or an equivalent test at the time of admission. |
Apply for IIT Tirupati MS(R) & PhD Admission
Candidates who have not cleared the National Level Eligibility Test (NLET) can also apply for PhD, provided they fulfill any one of the following criteria:

| Work Experience | Candidates with more than five years of relevant experience after obtaining their Master’s degree. |
| CFI Graduates | Master’s degree from a Centrally Funded Institute (CFI) other than IITs, with a minimum CGPA of 8.0/10 (7.5 for EWS/OBC-NCL, 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD). |
| International Examination | Candidates who have qualified in an international-level postgraduate admission examination such as the GRE. |
| CFTI Bachelor’s Degree | Four-year Bachelor’s degree from a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) with a minimum CGPA of 8.0/10 (7.5 for EWS/OBC-NCL, 7.0 for SC/ST/PwD). |
| Other Bachelor’s Degree | Four-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/institute with a minimum CGPA of 7.0/10 (6.5 for EWS/OBC-NCL, 6.0 for SC/ST/PwD) and a valid GATE score at the time of admission. |
| Note | Candidates meeting the educational qualifications in points 4 and 5 are eligible for direct admission to the MS(R) + PhD program. |
