New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has officially opened the registration process for MTech admissions 2025. Candidates can complete their registrations by April 7, 4 PM. Following the admission schedule, shortlisted candidates will attend interviews between May 14 and June 16, 2025.
The orientation for new MTech students is set for July 19, with the subsequent registration process taking place from July 19 to July 20. Regular classes for MTech programmes will begin on July 24, 2025. Selected candidates for full-time MTech programmes can accept their admission offers through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP).
Eligibility Criteria for IIT Delhi MTech Admissions 2025
Applicants must meet the minimum academic qualifications and GATE cutoff requirements for their chosen programmes. Final-year students expecting to complete their degrees by the third week of July 2025 are also eligible, with provisional admission contingent upon meeting final eligibility criteria after their results are declared.
Qualifying Degree and Marks
- General category: BTech/BE degree with at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.
- SC/ST/PwD categories: Minimum of 55% marks or a CGPA of 5.5.
GATE 2025 Exemption
Applicants holding a BTech degree from IITs with a CGPA of 8 or above are exempt from GATE requirements. They will directly participate in interviews, which will be conducted via videoconferencing.
Programme Duration
- Full-time MTech and MS (Research): Minimum duration of 24 months (four semesters).
- Part-time programmes (including MTech with High-Value Assistantship): Duration extends to 36 months (six semesters).
