Ghaziabad MBA Student Jumps to Death from High-Rise Apartment

An MBA student committed suicide in Ghaziabad and a teenager drowned in the Ganga canal in Delhi.

A 25-year-old MBA student, Harshit Tyagi, died by suicide on Tuesday after jumping from the ninth floor of his flat in Indirapuram, police said. Tyagi had been battling drug addiction and depression, according to officials.

    Police said Harshit Tyagi left his room on the pretext of going to the bathroom, but instead he went to the balcony of his flat in Angel Jupiter Society and jumped. His mother, Poonam Tyagi and cousin Himanshu Vats rushed him to a private hospital in Noida, where doctors declared him dead. ACP Indirapuram Abhishek Srivastava said the matter is being investigated.

    Delhi resident Jaideep Singh, 18, drowned while bathing in the Ganga canal in Muradnagar on Tuesday. His elder brother Shiv Kumar (21) was with him when Jaideep ventured into deep waters and was swept away. Private divers searched for him, but his body was not found. Authorities sought help from the NDRF flood rescue team, but his body was not found till evening, officials said.
