The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) celebrated its 39th convocation on March 31, 2025, conferring degrees to 811 students in various management programmes. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Lucknow and Professor Archana Shukla, Director, IIM Lucknow, conferred degrees to the graduates. Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, Founder and Chairman, Narayana Health graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the convocation address.
Graduating Cohort: A Diverse Group of Future Leaders
The 39th convocation saw a diverse and accomplished group of students graduating from various management programmes. A total of 811 students received their degrees, representing a wide range of programmes offered by the institute. The details of the graduating groups are as follows:
- 501 students graduated from the Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA).
- 67 students completed the Post Graduate Programme in Agri-Business Management (MBA-ABM).
- 21 students earned their degrees in the Doctoral Programme in Management (Ph.D.).
- 5 students graduated from the Executive Fellow Programme in Management (Ph.D.).
- 44 students finished the Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management (MBA-SM).
- 110 students completed the International Programme in Management for Executives (IPMX).
- 63 students graduated from the Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executives (PGPWE).

The convocation highlighted outstanding achievements by awarding medals to the top performers across various programs. Here are the recipients of the prestigious medals:
Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA):
- Yogya Mittal received the Chairman’s Gold Medal.
- Manasi Parakh earned the Director’s Medal.
- Potabattula Sridivya was awarded the Chairman’s Medal.
- Arpita Rathi received the Hari Shankar Singhania Medal for Best All-Rounder.
Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management (MBA-SM):
- Kumar Ankur earned the Chairman’s Gold Medal.
International Programme in Management for Executives (IPMX):
- Nitin Kumar Jain received the Chairman’s Gold Medal.
- Hasthavaram Sesha Reddy earned the Director’s Medal.
Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executives (PGPWE):
- Mandeep Singh Singroha was awarded the Chairman’s Gold Medal.
Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty’s Keynote: Driving Innovation and Efficiency in Healthcare
In his motivational address, Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty emphasized the importance of innovation and efficiency in traditional industries. He said that many sectors are still functioning the same way they did decades ago and advocated the adoption of automation, digital solutions, and restructuring to drive progress by improving efficiency and access. Dr. Shetty highlighted the role of young professionals in identifying inefficiencies and delivering innovative solutions directly to communities, thereby increasing access and impact. He challenged the graduates to think differently and challenge old models, emphasizing that the future of sustainable and scalable solutions lies in technology, efficiency, and innovative approaches.
N Chandrasekaran’s Address: Navigating Change and Leading with Integrity
In his speech, Chairman of the Board of Governors N Chandrasekaran shared valuable insights about the vast opportunities awaiting graduates in a rapidly changing world. “You are entering an era full of possibilities, where unprecedented advances in AI, blockchain and digital technologies are revolutionising industries,” he emphasised. He urged the graduates to embrace change, challenge boundaries and lead with unwavering integrity, stressing the importance of becoming leaders who not only excel in their profession but also bring about transformational change in their respective industries.
Chandrasekaran also discussed the impressive progress made by IIM Lucknow, highlighting its rise in global rankings and the creation of the Blockchain Technology Centre, and reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence.
Professor Archana Shukla’s Address: Celebrating Milestones and Embracing the Future
Professor Archana Shukla, Director, IIM Lucknow, presented the Director’s Report with pride on the achievements of the graduating class. She said, “This convocation not only marks the culmination of years of dedication, but also the beginning of a journey that will shape the future of business, leadership, and society.” She emphasized the importance of values such as integrity, compassion, and social responsibility in leadership roles, and reaffirmed IIM Lucknow’s mission to develop ethical change-makers who will make a meaningful and lasting impact.
