Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) plans to launch a global curriculum for international students 2026-27 school year. This new system will give more flexibility to the students and it will be very helpful for Class 10 and 12 board exams. Students will have the option to re-attempt the exams if they are not happy with their scores on the first attempt. They will get a second chance within the same academic year to improve their results. This is a big relief for the students

The CBSE proposal is to introduce an international curriculum for students abroad beginning in the 2026-27 academic year. Also, a proposal to conduct board exams twice a year from the same period is in progress which will help students to improve the score.
The decision to introduce a international curriculum was taken during a meeting on Tuesday(18th February, 2025), by Dharmendra Pradhan who is the Union Education Minister of India. The meeting included representatives from the external affairs ministry, the school education department, CBSE officials, and leaders from NCERT, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
