AIBE 21 Exam 2026 Today: Timings, Admit Card, Dress Code & BCI Guidelines

The Bar Council of India (BCI) is conducting the All India Bar Examination 21 (AIBE XXI) today, June 7, 2026. The exam is being held in a single shift in offline pen-and-paper mode. Here is a complete rundown of everything candidates need to know on exam day.

    Documents to Carry

    Candidates appearing for AIBE XXI must bring a printed copy of their admit card along with an original government-approved photo identity proof. Accepted ID proofs include:

    • Aadhaar Card
    • PAN Card
    • Voter ID
    • Passport
    • Driving Licence

    Students must carry a coloured copy of the AIBE admit card with a recent coloured passport-size photograph pasted on it. They must also carry a blue or black ballpoint pen to the exam centre.

    What’s Allowed?

    It must be noted that the AIBE exam is no longer conducted in an open-book format. However, as per the AIBE Exam Day Guidelines 2026, candidates are allowed to carry Bare Acts without notes to the exam hall

    Prohibited Items

    The BCI has banned electronic devices and unauthorised items inside the examination hall. The following are strictly not allowed:

    • Mobile phones
    • Smartwatches
    • Calculators
    • Bags
    • Books, notes and papers with any written content
    • Any Bluetooth devices

    Marking Scheme

    Candidates must use only blue or black ballpoint pens to mark their answers on the OMR sheet. The use of pencils is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.

    About AIBE

    The Bar Council of India conducts the All India Bar Examination usually once a year. The AIBE is conducted for law graduates to obtain a Certificate of Practice (CoP), which is a mandatory certificate to practice law in Indian courts.

    Who Can Appear?

    • Graduates who have completed a 3-year LLB programme
    • Graduates who have completed a 5-year integrated LLB programme
    • Final year law students are also eligible to appear in AIBE 2026.
