Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu, has extended the registration deadline for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026. Candidates seeking admission to B.E. and B.Tech programmes offered by engineering colleges across the state can now complete their registration process till June 5, 2026. The extension provides additional time for students who have not yet submitted their applications and uploaded the required documents.
The TNEA admission process is conducted entirely online and includes registration, document upload, online certificate verification, rank publication, choice filling, seat allotment, and admission confirmation. The counselling schedule will be announced separately after approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
What is TNEA?
Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is a state-level admission process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu, for admission to B.E. and B.Tech courses offered by government, government-aided, university departments, and participating private engineering colleges across the state. Admissions are granted based on Class 12 marks and candidates are not required to appear for a separate entrance examination.

Over 2.81 Lakh Candidates Registered
According to the latest data released by the authorities, more than 2.81 lakh candidates have registered for TNEA 2026 so far. The extension is expected to help additional students complete their applications before the revised deadline.
Counselling Process
After the publication of the rank list on June 29, eligible candidates will participate in the online counselling process for admission to engineering colleges across Tamil Nadu. During counselling, candidates will be able to fill in their preferred colleges and courses based on their rank and seat availability. The detailed counselling schedule will be released after receiving AICTE approval.
Candidates are advised to complete their registration and document-upload process before the extended deadline to avoid any last-minute issues. The application process is available through the official TNEA portal.
