Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh: Aarav Thakur, a bright student from Hatwar in Bilaspur district has made his state proud by securing All India Rank 500 in the NEET-UG 2025 examination. With an impressive score of 619 out of 720 and a 99.97 percentile, Aarav emerged as the NEET state topper from Himachal Pradesh.
Aarav had earlier cleared the JEE Main, showcasing his talent in both engineering and medical streams. Speaking to reporters he shared that while he currently leans toward engineering, he will make a final career decision after thoughtful consideration.
Aarav credits his success to his elder sister Amrita Thakur, a medical student at Tanda Medical College along with the support of his parents and teachers. He studied at a coaching academy in Bilaspur for four years in preparation for competitive exams.
Aarav’s father, Jagdeep Thakur, is a physics teacher, and his mother, Sapna Thakur, is also in the teaching profession. The family celebrated the achievement with great joy, as friends and well-wishers gathered to congratulate him.
According to the NEET-UG 2025 results announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA), Mahesh Kumar from Rajasthan secured the top rank, while Utkarsh Awadhiya from Madhya Pradesh ranked second. Out of 22.09 lakh students who appeared for the exam over 12.36 lakh qualified. This year saw a slight drop in the number of successful candidates compared to last year when 13.15 lakh had cleared the exam out of 23.33 lakh test takers.
Aarav’s dedication and consistent hard work have not only earned him a top spot but also set a remarkable example for aspirants across the country.
