New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a crucial alert for NEET UG 2025 aspirants ahead of the exam scheduled for May 4, 2025. This advisory aims to ensure a fair and secure examination process, addressing concerns about misinformation and fraudulent activities.
Important Guidelines Issued for NEET UG 2025 by NTA
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released essential instructions for candidates appearing in NEET UG 2025:
- Banned Items: Bringing mobile phones, electronic gadgets, or any prohibited items to the exam centre is strictly forbidden.
- Timely Reporting Required: Candidates must reach the exam centre on time. No entry will be allowed after 1:30 PM under any circumstances.
- Admit Card Mandatory: Students must carry their NEET UG 2025 admit card to the exam centre. Entry will not be permitted without it.
- Aadhaar Card Required: Candidates must bring their Aadhaar Card for identity verification and smooth security checks at the centre.
- No Early Exit: Students will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the test concludes.
Key Highlights of Exam Alert
1. Crackdown on Fake Paper Leak Claims
NTA has identified and flagged 122 social media accounts—106 on Telegram and 16 on Instagram—for spreading false claims about NEET 2025 paper leaks. These accounts have been reported to the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) for further action.
2. Launch of Suspicious Claims Reporting Portal
To combat misinformation, NTA has launched a dedicated portal allowing candidates to report suspicious activities related to NEET UG 2025. This initiative aligns with the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, aiming to eliminate malpractices in public examinations.
3. Mandatory Facial Recognition at Exam Centres
In an effort to prevent impersonation and ensure the authenticity of candidates, NTA has implemented facial recognition technology at examination centres. Candidates are advised to update their Aadhaar details to facilitate this process.
4. Reversion to Pre-COVID Exam Pattern
NTA has announced that NEET UG 2025 will follow the pre-COVID examination pattern, discontinuing the optional questions introduced during the pandemic. The exam will be conducted in a single shift using pen-and-paper mode.
