JoSAA 2026 PAF Payment Starts: CSAB Issues Notice for NIT+ System

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB-2026), operating from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, has issued a notice dated July 20, 2026, regarding payment of the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) for candidates in the NIT+ System. The notice applies to all candidates who hold a provisionally allocated seat from any round of JoSAA-2026 (not cancelled or withdrawn) and who have already paid the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF).

    Who Needs to Pay the PAF

    At the end of the fifth round of JoSAA-2026, all eligible candidates with an active NIT+ System seat allocation are required to pay the PAF online through the JoSAA portal.

    How to Pay the Partial Admission Fee

    1. Log in to the JoSAA portal using registered credentials.
    2. Navigate to the PAF payment section.
    3. Choose a payment mode: UPI, Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card.
    4. Alternatively, download the State Bank of India e-challan from the portal and pay offline.
    5. Complete the transaction before 5:00 PM IST on 24 July 2026.
    6. Save the payment confirmation for future reference.

    What Happens If PAF Is Not Paid

    The notice states clearly that the PAF will later be adjusted against the total admission fee. However, candidates who fail to pay within the stipulated window will have their provisionally allocated seat treated as rejected. In such cases, the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) already paid will be refunded, but only after deduction of the applicable processing fee, as per the business rules of JoSAA 2026.
