NEW DELHI: Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad has opened the Centre for Financial Markets (CFM) in Mumbai for better finance education and industry interfacing. India’s startup sector is expected to receive more than USD 600 billion in the coming three years, driving the startup ecosystem, IMT Ghaziabad added.
This recently opened centre is expected to incorporate fintech, AI-based investing and green finance courses in its curriculum. By incorporating industry-specific certifications and experiential learning, IMT Ghaziabad ensures that students acquire skills relevant to the market.

With the rising demand for BFSI professionals, the centre seeks to increase enrollment, expand internship opportunities, and foster industry engagement. These initiatives will equip students for leadership roles in financial markets.
Atish Chattopadhyay, Director of IMT Ghaziabad, emphasized the institute’s long-standing contribution to Indian financial markets. “For 44 years, IMT Ghaziabad has driven financial market growth through education and knowledge creation. The launch of CFM in Mumbai aligns with emerging trends in disruptive business models, political realignments, and artificial intelligence,” he stated.

Harsimran Sandhu, Chairperson of CFM and Professor of Finance, highlighted the significance of the Mumbai-based centre. “CFM will play a crucial role in developing finance professionals through its PGDM BFS program. The Mumbai immersion provides hands-on exposure to financial institutions and regulatory bodies, enhancing students’ industry knowledge,” he said.
The curriculum, aligned with industry needs, focuses on banking, financial services, and alternative investments. The centre features a Bloomberg Finance Lab and offers strong BFSI placements, ensuring students gain practical expertise to bridge the gap between theory and real-world financial markets.
