The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya conducted a three-day Management Development Programme (MDP) from June 19 to 21, 2025, for 30 officers of the Planning & Development Department, Government of Bihar. The programme focused on strengthening administrative capacity, strategic planning, and leadership in the public sector.
The programme was held under the guidance of Dr Vinita S. Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya. In her address, Prof. Sahay emphasised the importance of adaptive leadership, emotional intelligence, and collaborative governance. The three-day MDP aimed to equip officers with critical tools for efficient planning, stakeholder engagement, data-informed decision-making, and project management.
The programme was overseen by Prof. Amit Srivastava, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy, and coordinated by Prof. Muhammed Ashiq V and Prof. Remya Lathabhavan. It brought together 30 officers across Bihar and featured interactive classroom sessions, case studies, and an outbound heritage visit.
Key topics included vision and people alignment, social media and departmental reputation, contract management, statistical tools, emotional intelligence, stakeholder dynamics, project financing, and leadership application. A distinguished panel of IIM Bodh Gaya faculty delivered sessions.
The programme concluded with a valedictory session, where participants were awarded certificates of completion. Coordinators Prof. Ashiq and Prof. Remya expressed heartfelt gratitude to all faculty, staff, and administrative teams. They acknowledged the support of Mr. K. Senthil Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Planning & Development Department, Government of Bihar, for facilitating the initiative.
This MDP was one of 125 conducted by IIM Bodh Gaya in the current academic year, through which over 8,200 officers have been trained across departments, including WRD, BIPARD, Bihar Fire Training Academy, State Health Society Bihar, IOCL, HPCL, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, BAMETI, and the Directorate of Industrial Development. The programme reaffirms IIM Bodh Gaya’s commitment to nurturing future-ready leadership in India’s administrative and policing ecosystem.
