The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) will hold its landmark 50th Convocation on March 28, 2025, to honour the achievements of students graduating in various prestigious programmes.
Key Highlights
IIM Bangalore will confer degrees to graduates of various programmes, such as Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and various MBA courses. The presence of eminent guests and award winners will also make the event more special.
Dr. S. Somanath, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Professor and ex-Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), will be the Chief Guest. He will give the Convocation Address, motivating the graduates and their families with his vision and achievements. Dr. S. Somanath, an influential leader in the space sector and alumnus of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and IIT Madras, has significantly shaped India’s space ambitions. As former ISRO Chairman, he spearheaded critical milestones, including the Chandrayaan-3 landing near the moon’s south pole and various successful missions such as Aditya-L1, XPoSat, INSAT-3DS, and more. His leadership also fostered innovations like the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) and advancements in the Gaganyaan human spaceflight program.
