IIEST MBA 2025-27: The Office of the Dean Academic at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, invites applications for the two-year full-time MBA program for the 2025-27 session. Formerly recognized as Bengal Engineering & Science University, Shibpur, IIEST offers students an excellent opportunity to pursue management education at one of India’s leading engineering institutes.
Program Structure and Specializations
The MBA program spans two years (four semesters) and integrates core management subjects with specialized electives. The curriculum includes 15 core management papers and six elective courses, allowing students to develop expertise in four key management areas:
- Marketing Management
- Financial Management
- Human Resource Management
- Operations Management
Each specialization has a designated number of seats. Students will receive specialization allotments based on their academic performance up to the second semester. Additionally, they can opt for various Major-minor combinations within the available specializations.
Eligibility Criteria
The MBA program welcomes applicants of all nationalities. To qualify, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Humanities, Arts, Commerce, or Business Administration with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale (55% marks/CGPA of 6.0 for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in their Honours/Major subject.
Applicants must also have a valid score from one of the following management entrance exams:
- MAT
- CMAT
- CAT
- XAT
- GMAT
Final-year undergraduate students meeting the eligibility requirements may apply. If selected, they will receive provisional admission, contingent on submitting final results that fulfil the eligibility criteria by September 30, 2025 (subject to change).
Selection Process
IIEST Shibpur follows a two-tier selection process. Initially, candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic records, contributing 50% to the selection criteria. Shortlisted candidates will then proceed to an interview, which also carries 50% weightage in the final selection score.
Depending on the circumstances, the interview will be conducted either offline on campus or online. The institute prioritizes candidates with consistently strong academic performance from Class 10 onwards.
