Studying at Harvard University is now more accessible than ever. Harvard College has announced that starting in the 2025-26 academic session, it will waive tuition fees for students whose families earn $200,000 or less annually. As one of the world’s top universities, Harvard aims to expand financial aid and make education more affordable for middle-class families.
Under this initiative, students from qualifying families will not only receive free tuition for undergraduate programs but will also be eligible for additional financial aid to cover billed expenses based on their financial circumstances. Those with family incomes exceeding $200,000 will still have access to financial assistance, determined by their specific situation.
Harvard is taking its commitment further by fully covering all educational costs—including tuition, housing, food, health insurance, and travel—for students from families earning up to $100,000 per year. Additionally, each student will receive a $2,000 start-up grant in their first year and another $2,000 launch grant in their junior year to assist with their transition beyond university life.
Harvard’s financial aid staff will work closely with students and their families to tailor financial support to their specific needs.

William R. Fitzsimmons, Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, emphasized the importance of financial aid in strengthening Harvard’s learning community. “Our financial aid program ensures that talented students know Harvard College is a place where they belong and can thrive,” he stated.
