Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has released its tentative merit list for admissions under the Single Girl Child Quota for the 2026-27 academic session, marking a key milestone in this year’s admission cycle for one of Delhi’s largest state universities.
What the Quota Covers
The Single Girl Child Quota is a reserved admission category aimed at supporting female candidates who are the only child of their parents, giving them a dedicated pathway into GGSIPU-affiliated programmes independent of the general merit pool. This year’s list spans a wide range of courses, reflecting the breadth of programmes the university offers under this quota:
- MCA (Programme Code 105)
- B.Tech. (Programme Code 131)
- B.Pharma (Programme Code 133)
- BA (JMC) Journalism & Mass Communication (Programme Code 126)
- BA (Liberal Arts) (Programme Code 451)
- BA B.Ed. 4-Year Integrated Programme (Programme Code 161)
- MA (English) (Programme Code 113)
- M.Sc. (Microbiology) (Programme Code 414)
- B.Sc./M.Sc. DD in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics (Programme Code 137)
- 4-Year BA (English) and 4-Year BA (Economics) under the 5-Year UG-PG Scheme (Programme Codes 184 and 197)
How Merit Was Determined
Candidates have been ranked based on scores from multiple entrance channels including the university’s Common Entrance Test (CET), National Level Test (NLT), and CUET depending on the specific programme. Notably, CUET-based merit will only come into play as a fallback: it will be used strictly for seats that remain vacant after admissions are finalized through the primary NLT/CET merit lists, and any such allotment will be verified against the candidate’s actual CUET score at the time of admission.
Important: The List Is Provisional
GGSIPU has explicitly flagged this list as tentative and subject to change at the time of final seat allotment. Candidates appearing on the list should treat their current rank as indicative rather than final, and should await confirmation through the university’s official counselling process before assuming a seat is secured.
What Happens Next
Counselling for candidates under this quota is scheduled for July 15, 2026. Candidates are expected to:
- Verify their application and rank details ahead of the counselling date
- Carry all required original documents and identification for verification
- Monitor the official university notice board/portal for any updates, corrections, or last-minute changes to the merit list
The university has not yet indicated whether a revised or final merit list will be published separately post-counselling; candidates are advised to rely only on official GGSIPU communication for further updates.
