The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has officially kicked off the Seat Allocation and e-Counselling process for admissions to its UG, PG and Lateral Entry programmes for the academic year 2026. The registration window is now open and will close on 22nd June 2026 at 12:00 midnight.
What is NIFT e-Counselling 2026?
NIFT e-Counselling is the online seat allocation process through which qualified candidates are allotted seats across NIFT campuses in India. Candidates who have successfully cleared the NIFT 2026 selection process and hold a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) in the final declared results are eligible to participate.
Who Should Register?
All candidates who have:
- Appeared in NIFT Admissions 2026
- Successfully cleared the selection process
- Secured a valid CMR in the final result
are required to register on the NIFT e-Counselling portal by 22nd June 2026.
Important: Candidates who have applied under the Artisan / Ward of Artisan category should NOT participate through the online portal. Their seat allocation is being handled separately by NIFT.

- Visit the official NIFT e-Counselling portal: https://nift.admissions.nic.in
- Log in using your credentials
- Complete the registration process before 22nd June 2026
- Fill in your preferences for academic programmes (Course & Campus) by 25th June 2026
- Upload all required self-attested documents in PDF format
Documents Required
Candidates must keep the following ready before starting the process:
- Self-attested copies of all relevant documents and Annexures as mentioned in the Guidelines for Seat Allocation 2026
- All documents must be in PDF format
- Each document file size must be between 100 KB to 500 KB
- Ensure all documents are clearly legible

Important Reminders
- Registration by 22nd June 2026 is mandatory to participate in the counselling and seat allocation process.
- Candidates must check their eligibility as per the Admissions Guidelines in the Prospectus and Seat Allocation Guidelines available on the NIFT website.
- Artisan / Ward of Artisan category candidates must not register through the portal.
