The Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has advised all students enrolled to postgraduate medical courses (MD/MS/Diploma) for the academic year 2024 – 25 to check if their names are correctly listed on the Commission’s portal.
In a public notice issued on June 12, 2025, the PGMEB stated that many medical colleges have either not uploaded the student admission details or submitted incomplete information. Currently, the NMC portal contains records of 47,164 enrolled PG students.
The Commission has Advised all students enrolled in Broad Specialty postgraduate medical courses to verify their names in the uploaded list. If a student’s name is missing, they must immediately contact their respective Directorate of Medical Education or Counselling Authority for clarification.
This directive follows the guidelines under the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulation, 2023, which outline procedures for PG medical admissions through common counselling.
Earlier, NMC had instructed all medical colleges to upload the details of enrolled students by April 7, 2025, as per the notices dated March 25 and March 30. Due to updates and maintenance of the admission monitoring portal, the deadline was extended to June 10, 2025.
Despite this extension and multiple reminders, many colleges failed to upload complete information. Therefore, the NMC is now asking students to check the official list to confirm their admission records.
In a follow-up notice dated June 13, 2025, NMC Secretary Dr. Raghav Langer emphasized the importance of this verification and urged all stakeholders to take prompt action.
