UPTAC 2026 Counselling Schedule Released for B.Tech, M.Tech Integrated & B.Des

UPTAC conducts counselling for B.Tech, M.Tech Integrated, and B.Des admissions in participating institutes across Uttar Pradesh. The 2026 schedule spans seven rounds, including three regular rounds, an internal sliding round, and two special rounds for candidates who did not participate earlier. Registration for the regular rounds was allowed only once, during Round 1, and is not reopened in Round 2, 3, or 4.

UPTAC 2026 Counselling Schedule (Round-wise)

Round 1: Registration and First Allotment

Round 1 was open to JEE Main and UCEED candidates who are domicile of Uttar Pradesh or passed their 10+2 from the state. Registration, fee payment, document upload, and document verification for this round are complete. Online choice filling and locking ran from 13 July to 16 July 2026, followed by seat allotment on 18 July 2026. Candidates who received a seat had to pay the seat confirmation amount (Rs 20,000 or Rs 12,000, depending on category) and submit their online willingness (freeze or float) between 18 and 20 July 2026.

Round 2 and Round 3: Choice Alteration and Sliding

Round 2 allowed choice alteration and locking from 21 to 22 July 2026, with seat allotment on 24 July 2026. New allottees paid the seat confirmation fee and submitted willingness or withdrawal between 25 and 26 July 2026.

Round 3 offered the last opportunity to alter choices, from 27 to 28 July 2026; these choices also apply to later rounds, including internal sliding. Seat allotment for Round 3 took place on 30 July 2026, with payment, willingness, and withdrawal options open from 31 July to 1 August 2026.

Round 4: Auto-Freeze Allotment

Round 4 seat allotment on 3 August 2026 came with an auto-freeze for all candidates. New allottees could pay the seat confirmation fee or withdraw between 4 and 7 August 2026. Candidates whose seats were frozen had to physically report at their allotted institution within the same window (4 to 7 August 2026); a seat left unreported was treated as cancelled, with no refund.

Round 5: Internal Sliding

Only physically reported candidates were eligible for internal sliding in Round 5. Online willingness for sliding was collected from 4 to 7 August 2026, and allotment for candidates sliding within their institute (subject to seat vacancy) was declared on 8 August 2026. Vacant seats for the Special Round were also identified on the same date.

Round 6: Special Round 1 (JEE Main, UCEED, CUET UG)

Special Round 1 opened counselling to JEE Main, UCEED, and CUET (UG) 2026 candidates who had not been allotted or had withdrawn a seat earlier. Registration proceeded in two phases, with Phase 2 running from 9 to 10 August 2026 alongside payment of the special round fee (Rs 20,000). Document verification is scheduled for 9 to 11 August 2026, and choice filling from 9 to 12 August 2026. Seat allotment (with no refund provision) is set for 13 August 2026, when vacant seats for Special Round 2 will also be identified. Physical reporting for Special Round 1 allottees falls on 14 to 15 August 2026, with non-reporting again treated as cancellation without refund.

Round 7: Special Round 2

Details for Special Round 2, open to JEE Main and CUET (UG) 2026 candidates, are yet to be announced by UPTAC.

What Candidates Should Do Next

1. Candidates eligible for Special Round 1 should complete registration and fee payment within the notified window.
2. Upload documents accurately, since document verification for the special round has a short turnaround.
3. Complete choice filling within the given dates, as no further changes are typically allowed once locked.
4. Physically report at the allotted institute after the special round result, since non-reporting leads to cancellation without refund.
