RAIPUR: Hundreds of NEET 2023-qualified students who registered online for admission to medical and dental colleges have not received the ₹30 lakh security fund. The authorities have organized a camp at Nehru Medical College on February 27 to distribute the amount to students. Officials from the Director of Medical Education (DME) and the bank will attend the event.
The list of eligible candidates for the 2023 admission refund was available on the counselling board’s website. The refund date was 27 February from 11 AM to 5 PM. The venue was the Counselling Room (IT Cell), Room No. 503, Fifth Floor, New Block, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
A private bank has failed to return the security fund to students even after two years. The bank blamed the counselling agency for negligence, while the agency held the bank responsible for the delay. Students have visited the bank and the DME office in Raipur but still haven’t received their money. Due to the seriousness of the issue, the DME office asked students for details. The pending amounts range from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 and ₹1 lakh, depending on the category. In 2023, authorities were supposed to return ₹21.86 crore to 5,184 students.
