NEET UG 2025: NTA Warns Authorities Over Exam Monitoring

NTA has implemented strict security measures, including CCTV, GPS tracking, and AI surveillance, to ensure NEET UG 2025 is fair and leak-proof after the 2024 paper leak controversy.

New Delhi: The NEET UG 2024 paper leak shook the trust of lakhs of students and parents across the country. The controversy, which unfolded in Rajasthan and several other states, raised serious questions about the National Testing Agency (NTA). The issue even reached the Supreme Court, which advised NTA to take strict precautions for future exams.

    Don't Miss Exam Updates 2025

In response, NTA has implemented stringent security measures for NEET UG 2025 to ensure the exam is completely secure. Authorities across the country, including District Magistrates (DMs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) are holding meetings to discuss security arrangements for the exam and monitor coaching institutes. Special attention is being given to states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, which have the highest number of NEET exam centres.

Why Are DM-SP Meetings Being Held?

The main objective of these meetings is to build strong coordination between the local administration and police, making exam centres fully secure and tamper-proof. Key points of discussion include:

    • Secure transportation and delivery of question papers
    • Preventing paper leaks
    • Deployment of police forces at exam centres
    • Surveillance and monitoring during the exam
    • Controlling rumours and suspicious activity on social media

Following the 2024 incident, the Ministry of Education and NTA directed all states to organise such meetings. Cities like Lucknow and Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Patna and Muzaffarpur in Bihar, have already developed detailed action plans. Given the high number of NEET candidates in these regions, officials are focusing heavily on maintaining exam security.

Exam to Be Conducted in Over 550 Cities

According to news agency PTI, the Ministry of Education is holding regular meetings with DMs and SPs from all states and union territories to ensure smooth operations on the exam day. NEET UG 2025 will be held in more than 550 cities across the country with over 5,000 examination centres.

To manage such a large-scale examination, district-level coordination committees have been formed. These committees are responsible for logistics, security, and handling emergency situations. A senior official confirmed that these coordination teams are now fully operational and will supervise all aspects of the examination to resolve any issues immediately.

How Will NEET UG 2025 Be Monitored?

NTA has introduced several advanced security measures for NEET UG 2025:

    • CCTV Surveillance: Live monitoring is mandatory at all exam centres.
    • Signal Jammers: These will prevent the use of mobile phones and electronic devices to curb cheating.
    • GPS Tracking: Question papers will be delivered through GPS-enabled vehicles.
    • Police Deployment: Armed police will be posted at sensitive centres, especially in UP and Bihar.
    • AI-Based Monitoring: Artificial intelligence will be used to detect and flag suspicious activities.

The 2024 leak incident in Rajasthan highlighted the urgent need for such preventive measures. According to an NTA official, the agency is taking no chances this year. NEET UG 2025 is set to be fair, transparent, and completely secure.
