NEET SS 2025: MCC Lets INI SS Candidates Resign with Deposit Loss

MCC has approved the resignation of 115 INI SS candidates from NEET SS counselling. Candidates allotted seats must resign by June 24, 2025.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has allowed candidates to leave NEET SS 2025 counselling and give up their security deposit if they have already got a seat through the INI SS counselling. This decision was taken after many candidates who joined both counselling processes asked for permission to withdraw.

After checking the documents, MCC has allowed about 115 candidates to resign from the seats they got in Round 1 and Round 2 of NEET SS counselling.

“MCC has received many requests from SS candidates who got seats in Round 1 and Round 2 of SS Counselling 2024. These candidates are now allowed to give up their seats, but their security deposit will not be refunded. They also cannot take part in any future rounds of SS Counselling 2024,” MCC said in an official notice.

Candidates who got seats through both MCC and INI SS counselling must resign from their MCC seat by 5 PM on June 24, 2025, if they want to leave the process.

MCC also said that the stray round of NEET SS 2025 will be an upgrade round. Candidates who have joined in Round 2 can try for a better seat in this round. So, MCC advised candidates to think carefully before deciding to resign from their Round 1 or Round 2 seat or wait for an upgrade.

No one will be allowed to resign during the stray round. If a candidate does not get an upgrade, they must continue with the seat they already have.

“Candidates who want to resign should visit their allotted college to complete the process and collect their original documents. The college must submit the resignation online through the MCC portal. If the college takes the resignation offline, it will not be accepted,” MCC added.
