Patna: The Bihar Police has announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Sanjeev Kumar Singh, popularly known as Sanjeev Mukhiya, in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case. The official notice issued by Additional Director General (ADG) Kundan Krishnan from the Bihar Police headquarters highlights the urgent need to arrest the main man in one of India’s most serious exam cheating cases.
Apart from Mukhiya, the police have named Shubham Kumar and Rajkishore Kumar as co-accused and announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh each on them. The reward offer applies to any citizen or police officer who gives actionable information. Valid for two years, the notification ensures that anyone assisting in the arrest can claim the entire reward amount.
Who is Sanjeev Mukhiya?
Sanjeev Mukhiya, a resident of Shahpur Balwa village under Nagarnausa police station in Nalanda district, is the prime accused in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case registered at Shastri Nagar police station (case no. 358/2024). Officials also link him to the constable recruitment scam, teacher recruitment scam and other pending criminal investigations, labelling him as a repeat offender in high-profile exam scams.

- Shubham Kumar of Beech Bazaar under Sohsarai police station of Nalanda is wanted in two different cases.
- Two cases are also registered against Rajkishore Kumar, a resident of Bakhtari village under the Karpi police station of Arwal.
CBI Takes Over NEET-UG 2024 Paper Leak Investigation
The police unraveled the NEET-UG paper leak scandal after detecting irregularities during the nationwide entrance exam on May 5, 2024. The case, initially investigated by the Patna police, was handed over to the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) and later transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on June 23, 2024.
The CBI FIR names eight accused: Sanjeev Mukhiya, Ayush Raj, Rocky, Amit Anand, Nitish Kumar, Bittu, Akhilesh and Sikandar Yadavendu. Investigators believe Mukhiya ran multiple exam cheating operations, establishing his role as a central figure in India’s exam scam network.

Bihar Police has appealed to the people to provide any information that can lead to the arrest of these fugitives. The department has assured strict confidentiality of all informers and has guaranteed the full reward amount upon successful arrest.
