JCECEB Releases B.Sc. Nursing 2026 Notice: Applications Open July 16

Big update for nursing aspirants in Jharkhand. The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released an indicative notice for the B.Sc. Nursing (Basic/Post-Basic) Entrance Competitive Examination 2026, inviting online applications for admission to nursing courses at state nursing institutions for the academic session 2026-27.

As per the notice, admission for the 2026-27 session will first be offered to eligible local resident candidates of Jharkhand, and only after their seats are filled will remaining vacant seats be opened to other eligible candidates.

JCECEB B.Sc. Nursing 2026: Key Highlights

The Board has clarified that this is only a brief/indicative notice, and candidates must refer to the detailed notification (Advertisement No. JCECEB/09/26-39, dated 15 July 2026) available on the official website for complete admission-related information.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Sc. Nursing (Basic)

• Minimum age of 17 years as on 31 December 2026.
• Candidates must have passed 10+2 in the Science stream (PCB) along with English Core/Elective, with at least 45% aggregate marks from a recognised board (AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or equivalent).
• Candidates appearing in the 10+2 Science examination conducted by the National Institute of Open School with 45% marks are also eligible.
• Candidates must be medically fit.

B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic)

• Candidates must have passed Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognised university, or passed 10+1 on or before 1986.
• Candidates must hold a Certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and be registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurse Registration Council.
• Male candidates trained before the new integrated course came into effect must, besides being registered as a Nurse with the State Nurses Registration Council, submit proof of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council of similar duration in lieu of midwifery, in one of the following areas: OT Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, TB Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neuro Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, or Orthopedic Nursing.

Exam Timing and Centres

Candidates will get a one-time opportunity to edit the entries filled in their online application on 3 August 2026 by logging into the portal. No corrections will be entertained, and no fresh applications will be accepted, after this window closes.
