Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has begun accepting online applications for admission to 22 postgraduate and select undergraduate programmes through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) merit for the 2026-27 academic session, with the registration window open from July 10 to July 20, 2026.

    Don't Miss Entrance Updates 2026

    The Key Points

The university will use CUET (PG) scores to fill vacant seats left over after its own National Level Test (NLT) and Common Entrance Test (CET) merit lists are exhausted. Only candidates who appeared in CUET are eligible to register, and the process applies to programmes ranging from MBA and MCA to M.Tech, LL.M., and B.Ed.

Registration opened at 6:00 PM on July 10, 2026 and will close at 11:59 PM on July 20, 2026, on the university’s admission portals www.ipu.ac.in and www.ipu.admissions.nic.in. Each application requires a non-refundable fee of Rs 2,500 per course, and candidates can apply to multiple programmes by paying separately for each.

    Who Can and Cannot Apply

The university has drawn two firm lines around eligibility:

    • Only CUET candidates qualify. The notice states unambiguously that registration is restricted to those who appeared in CUET no other category of applicant will be entertained on this portal.
    • Already-admitted candidates are excluded. Anyone who has secured a seat through GGSIPU’s own NLT or CET and carries an “Admitted” status cannot claim a seat again through the CUET route.

This effectively makes the CUET pathway a second chance for CUET-qualified candidates who missed out on a seat through the university’s regular entrance exams not an alternative for those already placed.

    The Full List of Programmes

Admissions through CUET merit will be conducted for the following 22 programmes:

Note: Although B.Ed. and B.Ed. (Special Education) are undergraduate programmes, they are included in this notice because their applicable CUET domain subjects are classified under the CUET (PG) examination framework.

The university has kept the list flexible, reserving the right to add or drop programmes, with any revision to be notified separately in due course.

What Candidates Need to Check Before Applying

Before filling the registration form, the university has directed applicants to review the domain-specific subjects, optional languages, and general test requirements relevant to their chosen programme. These details are laid out in Chapter 2 (“Eligibility Criteria & Admission Criteria”) of the university’s UG and PG Admission Brochures for 2026-27, depending on the programme selected.

    Background: Why This Route Exists

GGSIPU typically fills its programmes through dedicated NLTs and CETs conducted by the university. The CUET merit route is a supplementary mechanism, activated only once seats remain vacant after these primary processes conclude — meaning CUET admission is not guaranteed and depends entirely on how many seats go unfilled in each programme.

    What To Do Now

    • Confirm you have appeared in CUET before attempting to register non-CUET candidates cannot apply.
    • Log in to www.ipu.ac.in or www.ipu.admissions.nic.in and check domain subject requirements in the relevant Admission Brochure.
    • Apply separately, with fee payment, for each programme of interest.
    • Complete the process before the July 20, 11:59 PM deadline no extension has been mentioned in the notice.
    • Track the university’s website and notice boards for the counselling schedule once released.
