CAT 2026 Registration Closes Today at 5 PM; No Further Extension

The registration window for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 will close today at 5:00 PM. Candidates who have not yet submitted their applications should complete the registration process, upload the required documents and pay the application fee before the deadline. IIM Indore, which is organising CAT 2026, has stated that the revised registration deadline will not be extended further.

The CAT 2026 registration deadline was earlier scheduled for September 15, 2026, but candidates were given an additional week to complete their applications. The revised deadline is September 22 at 5 PM.

CAT 2026 Registration: Important Dates

CAT 2026 is scheduled for November 29, 2026, and will be conducted in three sessions at test centres across approximately 170 cities.

CAT 2026 Registration Deadline Will Not Be Extended

Candidates who are yet to apply should not wait for another extension. The authorities have indicated that September 22 at 5 PM is the final deadline for submitting CAT 2026 applications.

Applicants should complete the entire process, including fee payment, before the deadline. Merely creating a registration account without successfully submitting the application and paying the prescribed fee will not complete the application process.

The registration fee is non-refundable and must be paid as part of the online application process.

How to Apply for CAT 2026

Candidates who have not completed their CAT 2026 registration can follow these steps:

1. Visit the official CAT 2026 website.
2. Open the CAT 2026 registration section.
3. Complete the candidate registration process using the required details.
4. Log in and fill in personal, academic and other required information.
5. Upload the photograph, signature and applicable certificates.
6. Select the preferred test cities and programme preferences.
7. Pay the prescribed CAT 2026 application fee.
8. Review all the details carefully and submit the application.
9. Save the application confirmation for future reference.

Candidates can select up to five preferred test cities while filling out the application form.

CAT 2026 Application Edit Window

After registration closes, successfully registered candidates who have paid the application fee will receive a limited edit window. During this period, candidates will be permitted to make changes only to selected details, including their photograph, signature and test city preferences.

CAT 2026 Exam on November 29

CAT 2026 will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2026, in three sessions. The examination will have a duration of 120 minutes and will consist of three sections:

• Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
• Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
• Quantitative Ability (QA)

CAT scores are used for admission to postgraduate management programmes offered by the Indian Institutes of Management and several other participating business schools.

Candidates who have not yet applied should complete their CAT 2026 registration before 5 PM today rather than waiting until the final minutes of the application window.
